Every Thursday, Buurtbuik West prepares free and healthy meals for the neighborhood. Buurtbuik volunteers collect food from the Market Fisheries Square Rotterdam-West and cook it into a delicious dinner.

⏱️ Cooking starts at 17:00, and dinner should be ready at 18:30 until 21:00.

📍 It happens here: Pier 80 Rösener Manzstraat 80 3026 TV Rotterdam (WMO Radar building).

Your role:

👩‍🍳 Come at 17:00 and start preparing and cooking (no previous cooking experience required!)

🍽️ As soon as dinner is ready (18:30), set up the buffet tables, create a cozy restaurant vibe and welcome our first guests inside.

🧼 Approaching 21:00, you can clean tables, dishes and kitchen to help the Buurtbuik team clean-up.

The organiser:

BuurtBuik prepares healthy, free meals at 21 locations across the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Leiden, Utrecht, and Rotterdam…) using food rescued from markets, supermarkets, retailers, and restaurants. Neighborhood volunteers collect the food from local suppliers and cook it into a delicious meal.

Their mission consists in fighting against food-waste in the Netherlands, but most importantly to offer free health food for hundreds of thousands of families living below the poverty line as well as creating community spaces for lonely people.
