This event:

Every third Tuesday evening of the month the Buddy Café is open! This is an open evening where everyone is welcome to join to play games, have a chat and get to know new people in the city. Join for a cup of tea, make music together or play some airhockey, tablefootball, chess or bring a new game yourself! Come connect x

The organiser:

Buddy to Buddy connects newcomers who have had to leave their country of origin with fellow citizens of their own city or village based on equality and shared interests.

Important!: We ask you to sign up just so we can keep track of how many EUC students are going to the Buddy Café. However, it is a very open and chill evening so you can come whenever you want and leave whenever is needed!

Beginner Level - No prior experience is necessary, just come and have fun. You may experience a language barrier if you do not know Dutch, and even if you know it, be prepared to get creative with how you communicate! Check this out before signing up.

🤝 Message from the organiser:

What we actually do is match Rotterdammers with Rotterdam refugees for 4 months to build a friendship. We do this one-on-one. This event (the Buddycafé) is separate to allow people to get to know us in an accessible way. The free 4-month matching process at Buddy to Buddy connects buddies based on shared interests. In this way, we combat loneliness among newcomers and work towards a city in which everyone belongs. You can be of significance by being yourself, by opening up your own world and getting to know each other. In this way, you not only expand his or her world, but also your own.
